Backseat Romance

about

Buffalo has long tradition of a strong local music scene, and has produced such bands as Cute Is What We Aim For, Every Time I Die, and most notably The Goo Goo Dolls. An American Skyline is working hard to continue that tradition and reach the next level, in order to break on to the National Circuit.

After the break up of his former band, The Common Kings, guitarist PA Bologna, along with producer Jay Zubricky, ventured into the studio to start work on the new project that would become An American Skyline. “I wanted to create something that people can get behind, a new universal sound that appeals to everyone. I’ve always felt that previous bands I’ve been in tried too hard to be different, just for the sake of being different. An American Skyline is about being honest and real, and just playing the music that we like to play, music that people can relate to and take pleasure in. I really think we’ve accomplished that.”

The album was recorded by producer Jay Zubricky at GCR audio (Owned by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robbie Takac) and took about 6 months to complete. “I was really excited when PA called me and asked me to be apart of this project” says Zubricky. “We said that we want to make this album the right way. We wanted to take our time, and turn good songs into great songs, and I’m really pleased with how everything came out.”

Six months later, the group made up of PA Bologna, Justin Tartick, Kevin Hoffman, Andy Deluca and Matt Buscarino, is ready to release their first EP “…Let the Story Begin.” (October 22nd) “I am really excited to let people listen to the album because there is something for everyone on it. Every song is based on a true story, and listeners want to be able to relate to the music they hear, and be able to say, ‘Oh man, that happened to me too,’” said guitarist and front-man Bologna.
